We are thrilled to announce that Pratham Education Foundation has been selected as one of the 34 initiatives worldwide, which will receive funding support from the Google.org Impact Challenge for Women and Girls. This opportunity will enable us to create upskilling pathways for rural women in India and help them gain economic empowerment.
The Google.org Impact Challenge for Women and Girls commits $25 million to fund organizations creating pathways to prosperity for women and girls. The details of the Impact Challenge can be read here. Over 7,800 applications were submitted by organizations from across the world and were reviewed by a panel of experts from several sectors, after which 34 initiatives were chosen.
We are humbled to be included in the same group as organisations like Black Girls CODE (US), The Action Foundation (Kenya), Generation Australia, The Bridge International (South Korea), Founderland (Germany), and ImpactHER Foundation (Nigeria). We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to Samhita-CGF and SwaTaleem Foundation, the other two organisations chosen from India.
“We are very excited about this new funding from Google.org, and with this support, we hope to raise awareness, increase access, enhance abilities and support thousands of women as they pursue their aspirations. It is an opportunity for us to reach more communities and improve the effectiveness of our training programs”, said Dr. Rukmini Banerji, CEO, Pratham Education Foundation.
